Why Poland is not attractive for migrants

Nevertheless, this country is definitely not on the list of states that are most attractive to migrants. That is, for people who want to leave their own country in search of a better life.
It seems that there are all the prerequisites for migrants to come here. But in practice this is not the case. Let's look into the reasons.
The main reasons
In many ways, the current situation in the country was influenced by military and post-war events. We are talking about the period of World War II and several decades after its end. After all, after the end of the war, the territory of Poland was divided. Many people left and never returned.
Subsequently, the Polish government began to pursue a rather harsh ethnic policy. This was also reflected in Poland demographics. The population of the country is gradually decreasing. Experts attribute this to the fact that migrants have too few opportunities and prospects. They do not stay in Poland, because they do not see the sense in it. They mostly use the country's territory as a transit zone in order to get to more attractive and suitable states for life.
The reasons for such unattractiveness of Poland for migrants are obvious. These are peculiarities of ethnic policy of the state. For the last 25-30 years no serious inflow of immigrants into the country has been recorded. If we do not count several thousand people from Chechnya, as well as the current situation in Ukraine. Poland is one of the countries that has received the largest number of refugees from neighboring Ukraine.
Ethnic policy has two key factors.
That is why migrants almost never consider Poland as a country where they can move and stay. But Poland is a convenient transit zone, which makes it possible to move to European Union countries, for example. From this point of view, moving to Germany or Italy looks more promising for migrants.
